Greetings, and thanks for dropping by on my website.

As winter turns to spring (or summer turns to autumn if I haven’t got round to updating this page recently) it’s time to take a quick look ahead to the year.

My two most recent publications are short stories.  “Conned” appeared in the CWA anthology “Guilty Consciences” at the end of 2011 and I also have a story in the new Mammoth Book of Best British Crime (published in February this year).

Summer 2012 sees the publication of the paperback of Herring on the Nile - both in the UK and US (Macmillan and Felony & Mayhem respectively).  The French edition of The Herring Seller’s Apprentice (“Étrange suicide dans une Fiat rouge à faible kilometre“ - Sonatine Editions).  I love the title that Sonatine have given it - I wish I’d thought of that myself for the original English edition.  And I love the simplicity of the cover.

I hope to be at a number of crime writing events over the course of the year.  Maybe I’ll see you at Bristol in May or at St Hilda’s in August.  I’ll be chairing a panel at Bristol on amateur sleuths.

I have also started tweeting as @lenctyler.  If you’ve signed up to Twitter you can follow my daily updates on what I am writing (or what I am doing to avoid writing e.g. tweeting).  I also blog sometimes on the Macmillan New Writers Blog

And now, if you are interested in what I write about, what I have done in the past or my dog, please see the rest of the site.
